Floating Points, born Sam Shepherd in 1986 in Manchester, England, is a British DJ and electronic music producer known for his eclectic blend of electronic, jazz, and classical influences. He is the founder of the label Melodies International, which focuses on reissuing rare and obscure records. Shepherd is also a classically trained pianist and composer, having released the acclaimed album *Promises* with Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra.
